Paul Colton, CEO & Founder
Paul is the founder of Aptana and is currently the CEO and President. Paul founded Aptana in 2007. Prior to Aptana, Paul founded several technology companies including Live Software where he defined the Servlet API specification and created JRun, the leading commercial Servlet and JSP engine. After Live Software was acquired by Allaire (and subsequently by Macromedia and Adobe, which now sells JRun), Paul took time to explore new technical opportunities — Aptana is the result of that exploration.

Basil Hashem, Vice-President, Products
Basil is a technology industry veteran and has held various product and strategy positions. He was most recently with the mobile ad network, Admob, which was recently acquired by Google. Previously, he worked on the Firefox and Add-ons products at Mozilla, managed the travel property at Yahoo!, and co-founded CenterRun, a startup that provided one-touch application provisioning (acquired by Sun then Oracle). Prior to that Basil held positions at AOL, Netscape and KPMG. He started his career as a software engineer at NASA's Jet Propulsion Lab. He holds an MBA from the University of Southern California and a BS in Math/CS from UCLA.

Douglas Schrier, Rembrandt Venture Partners
Doug successfully lead Rembrandt’s efforts to establish a base of institutional investors to fund Rembrandts investments moving forward. Prior to joining Rembrandt Venture Partners, He was at Argo Global Capital since 2001 where he was a Senior Partner. He has been involved in funding, managing, and developing technology companies for over 20 years. His prior experience includes being Senior Vice-President for Acquisitions and Strategic Ventures at SAIC in La Jolla, CA.

In Sik Rhee, Rembrandt Venture Partners
In Sik brings 18 years of experience as an entrepreneur, advisor, and investor across a broad spectrum of technology-enabled markets. Prior to joining Rembrandt, In Sik spent two years as a Venture Partner at Accel Partners. Previously, he was the co-founder of Opsware (Nasdaq: OPSW), formerly Loudcloud, which was acquired Hewlett Packard. Prior to Opsware, In Sik co-founded Kiva Software (acquired by Netscape), a pioneer of the Application Server middleware market. At Kiva, he architected and developed one of industry's first Java application servers. In Sik holds a Bachelor of Science in EE and CS from the University of California at Berkeley.

Kevin Efrusy, Accel Partners
Kevin's background is primarily as an entrepreneur and operating executive. He served two stints as an Entrepreneur-In-Residence at Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers where he started Corio, an ASP pioneer which went public on Nasdaq and was acquired by IBM in 2005. Later he served as the first CEO of IronPlanet, an online marketplace for heavy equipment which currently sells in excess of $170M/year of equipment. Prior to KPCB, Kevin served as a product manager at Zip2 and a consultant at Bain & Company.

Arthur Patterson, Accel Partners
Arthur Patterson is a co-founder of Accel Partners and is experienced in helping software and services start-up companies become leaders in their fields. Prior to co-founding Accel Partners, Arthur was General Partner of Adler & Company. He started in venture capital at Citicorp Venture Capital. At Citicorp, he also managed a fund of publicly traded equities and was on the Equity Committee of Citicorp's Investment Management Group. Previously, Arthur worked in Washington for the International office of the U.S. Treasury Department - International Monetary, Trade and Development Policy. He received an AB and an MBA from Harvard.

Nico Nierenberg, Accel Partners
Nico Nierenberg has been a software entrepreneur and innovator for over 20 years. He founded Actuate in 1993 and is currently Chairman of the Board and Chief Architect. Nico joined Actuate in 1993 as Entrepreneur-in-Residence. Leveraging the Internet and new distributed computing principles, Actuate enables enterprise-wide information distribution based on virtually all corporate data sources. Prior to Actuate, Nico co-founded Unify Corp.
